Second Annual New Moon Century
Ride For Hunger And The Planet
On behalf of JConnect and ride director, Sasha Perry, we are excited to announce the date for this year’s Second Annual New Moon Century, Sunday, October 10, 2010!
Last year 100 riders participated in this ground-breaking and important ride that brought together a diverse group of riders for a challenging and fun day. We raised money and awareness about local hunger issues, through our partnership with the Jewish Federation’s Fed Up With Hunger campaign, in addition to the ocean conservation efforts of the Sea Shepherd Society.
In response to great feedback from riders, there will be an all-new route created, and plenty of chances to get involved. We encourage interested riders to be in touch with us by filling out the volunteer form on the website, [http://newmooncentury.com/?page_id=28] and to help create ride teams from synagogues, temples, and other groups. Formal ride registration will begin some time this summer.
Companies, organizations, and individuals that are interested in sponsoring this year’s ride are encouraged to contact the organizers soon. The New Moon Century received good local coverage, and we expect this year’s ride to attract significant media interest not only in the Jewish press, but through general media outlets.
The New Moon Century is powered by JConnect.

Riders!
We will have registration and check-in open at Deerhill Park from 6:30am-7:30am. Please keep this in mind when planning your arrival time. We ask that no one rides out before 6:30am as checkpoints may not be open, and civil twilight is not until 6:30. Thanks!
Pre-Registration Raffle!
Those riders that register for the ride before October 15th qualify to be included in the Pre-Registration Raffle!
Prizes include new jerseys from LACBC, shirts from Orange20 Bicycle Shop, cycling gear from Echo Park Cycles, and much much more! Make sure to register in time!
Route Update
We’ve been getting a lot of questions about the route.
While we can not give turn-by-turn directions before the day of the ride, there is a description of the route on the “About” page. And for those of you asking, in case you didn’t see the update, there is 6,500 feet of climbing on the 100 mile route.
If you need more specifics please get in touch with us.
Route slips will be handed out at the beginning of the ride. Look forward to seeing you in two weeks!
